Tuesday: Midnight Madness

I finally woke up at 2 p.m. I was exhausted from all the work over the past few days, but that's behind me now, and I can look forward to some tennis.

Last night before I left the media center, I ran into Sarah Alvanipour. She used to work with Andyroddick.com, and she's now doing work for Tennis magazine. We've met up at a few events, and we visited a lot in Miami last year. She introduced me to Claire, from the UK, and we had quite a nice chat last night. I think we're going to get together later in the week.

Anyway, I got back to the hotel around 10 p.m., after the Agassi match. Many disappointed fans, now that Aggie is no longer in the tournament. But Haas played well, as did Safin in his match against Davydenko, so they deserve to still be in the event. I followed those matches on the monitor while doing this blog.

I had no trouble getting onto the internet in the restaurant. They use T-Mobile, and I bought a day pass. But when I got back to my room, it was a different matter. I spent an hour on the phone with T-Mobile as they tried to get me onto the internet. They even brought me up this kit to hook to my computer. I said, "This is ridiculous. I can get a connection in the lobby. Do I have to work down there?"

In the end, they moved me to a room in the "newer" wing, which has better success with internet connections. So I had to pack my stuff back up and move at midnight. But they were right -- the internet is fine here. But what a hassle to move at that time of night.

I've heard that Rafa is in this hotel, although I haven't seen him. Apparently they put the women at the Esmerelda and the men at the Hyatt. Personally, I like the Esmerelda better, and I'm moving back there tomorrow, because the rate is much better there. But they are right across the street from each other, so that's not an issue. And Lopy is at the Esmerelda.

And the internet is better there, too!!!

But I'm going to update the site now, and then get ready and head over to the tennis center. I wonder what adventures await me today. Just getting into the doubles match was a huge fiasco yesterday. Thankfully, Rafa is playing on stadium court tonight, and he loves to go fishing. Let's hope he catches a big Fish tonight. Vamos!!!

I will do a game-by-game live blog during the match, in case you don't have TV coverage.

Also, I just uploaded by photos from the doubles match yesterday. There's one there especially for Lovely.
