Saturday -- We are here. Hello from Susan and Lopaka!!!

I'm off to a very late start, because I worked late the last few days, and even pulled an all-nighter on Thursday night. So I'm a bit tired. But I'm heading out soon, and hopefully will be at the hotel before midnight.

I'm so bummed because I can't find the battery charger for my camera. But I decided there is more than one way to skin a cat, so I called Radio Shack, and they have one.

So before I can leave town I have to:

1. Go to the pharmacy for a prescription.

2. Stop at Costco to get my glasses fixed (screw fell out).

3. Go to Radio Shack for charger.

4. Go to bank (for obvious reasons).

Then I can get in the car and head to IW. I'll check in with you all when I get there....

Okay, I'm here. I got lost a few times. Unfortunately, the pharmacy and Costco were closed. But fans need not worry, I got money and the battery charger for my camera.

And as it turns out, Uncly Lopy has two cameras, so photos will not be a problem. Although bandwidth could be an issue. He tells me that when he went to England lasty year he took 2400 photos. So photos of Rafa will not be a problem for VR.com. And we also will have some travel photos, too.

We both arrived at IW late tonight. Lopy got in around 11; I got in later. So we haven't seen the place by day yet. But we expect to see some nice snow-capped mountains in the morning.

It is cold here. Lopy says it's not for people from warm areas. This is very unusual, though. Normally it's hotter than Hades here, as I've said. I'm sure it will warm up later in the week. But Rafa is going to need his flannel-lined piratas this week.

We've discovered that he's playing at 11 a.m. So we're going to head over at 9 a.m. tomorrow. Lopy will get a ticket for the day, and I'll pick up my credential, and we'll be there to support our guy.

We have his Dubai bear ready, with other gifts, and will try to give that to him tomorrow as well.

Some advice from Lopy. Anyone who flies into John Wayne Airport and plans to drive to IW -- note that it is a long drive. Also, he's not going to knock the rental car company, but it was pretty obvious they were building the car when he got there, so he was there a while.

But Lopy discovered what I already knew -- it's a long trip down the I-10 from Palm Springs to Indian Wells, and Cook Street goes on FOREVER. But even though I knew it, I got lost, too.

But I must have looked like someone the cat dragged in -- which is the way I feel. Because the desk clerk gave me the best room I have ever had since I've been coming here. It overlooks the pool, and I'm sure I'll enjoy the view as I'll be working here on Sunday and Monday. But I'll be there for Rafa's match tomorrow.

Vamos!!!! More tomorrow . . . .
